On behalf of a leading provider of nursing, residential and hospital care I am looking for a Deputy Manager for one of their fantastic facilities in the Hemel Hempstead/ St Albans area of Hertfordshire...

This surperb facility is set in two acres of picturesque countryside offering a tranquil environment to it's clients. The hospital offers 35+ ensuite bedrooms divided into three gender specific wards for adults aged 18+ with enduring mental health problems, cognitive deficits, physical illnesses and challenging behaviours that are difficult to manage in mainstream care or in the community.

My client is committed to a holistic approach and uphold the core values of patient respect, privacy and dignity. This facilities multi-disciplinary clinical team maintains the highest standards of care in a safe, positive environment that enables each patient to achieve their maximum potential.

My client is now looking for a Deputy Ward Manager to assist the Ward Manager with the day to day running of the ward. Your duties will include supervisions, performance reviews, assisting with recruitment of new staff and some administration duties. You will also be expected to be hands on as and when required, delivering medications etc. The facility is split into 3 wards and their maybe some rotation onto the different wards as and when required and shifts will be a mixture of days and nights once out of your probationary period.

The ideal person for this role will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Registered Nurse, you will have some experience of working with one or all of the above client groups and you will ideally have some management/ supervisery experience although experienced Staff Nurses wishing to make a step up are encouraged to apply. You will possess excellent communication skills (Both written and verbal), excellent organisational/ administration skills and you will be confident and driven in your approach.

In return for your hard work and commitment my client is offering a competitive salary of £29'000, plus some excellent benefits including a pension scheme and support with progression and further training.
